Journal of Minimal Access Surgery (JMAS), the official publication of Indian ... Association of Gastrointestinal Endo Surgeons, was launched in early 2005. The JMAS, a quarterly publication, is the first English-language journal from India, as also from this part of the world, dedicated to Minimal Access Surgery. The JMAS boasts an outstanding editorial board comprising of Indian and international experts in the field.
The mission of the JMAS is to publish peer-reviewed articles in the fields of laparoscopic and thoracoscopic surgery, laparoscopic urology and gastrointestinal endoscopy. Although the Journal strives to publish quality articles submitted from around the world, there will be a strong emphasis on showcasing Minimal Access Surgery as practiced in the developing world.

Articles on unusual cases and technical notes of special instruments or equipment that might be useful to others in the field of neuroscience are also acceptable. Case reports should be brief and not include an extensive review of the literature. The Editorial Board reserves the right to judge the appropriateness of studies involving human and laboratory subjects.

The Journal of Orthopaedics, Trauma and Rehabilitation (JOTR) is a continuation ... of The Hong Kong Journal of Orthopaedic Surgery (HKJOS), which has been published since 1997 under the leadership of Dr Stephen W.C. Wu (Editor-in-Chief). The inception of HKJOS occurred during the Presidency of Dr P.Y. Lau of The Hong Kong Orthopaedic Association (HKOA). He proposed this idea at a HKOA council meeting. Professor Jack C.Y. Cheng then explored its feasibility and got support from The Hong Kong College of Orthopaedic Surgeons (HKCOS) with Professor K.M. Chan as the President. HKJOS was run by the Editorial Board and governed by the Board of Trustees that was composed of four members, with two each from the HKCOS and HKOA.

A new development in 2000 sees the Journal increase in size to include a designated Continuing Education section. Part 1 contains the reviews and annotations regularly published by the Journal and Part 2 contains a series of papers addressing specific topics, including statistics, ethical issues, evidence based medicine, neonatal medicine and instructive case reports.
